Dr Castanera is a Pediatric Ophthalmology and Ocular Motility Surgery Consultant with over 40 years of experience.
He is, at present, consultant and surgeon in charge of the Department of Pediatric Ophthalmology, Strabismus and Neuroophthalmology of Miranza IBO (Balearic Institute of Ophthalmology) in Mallorca, Spain, and held the positions of vice medical director of that Institute from 2015 to 2017, and of Medical Director between 2020 and 2022.
He has written over 65 scientific publications in national and international journals of the specialty, has edited two proceeding series of international symposiums on Strabismus and contributed to several other publications.
He has been also doing active research and teaching of young ophthalmologists and fellows in the specialty of Strabismus and Neuroophthalmology.
